With a special celebration approaching, the clients wanted to install a swimming pool in their established garden, but timing was critical. The alternative was to postpone the project until after the event, so we agreed on a carefully planned installation programme to have everything ready in time.
The garden was already beautifully landscaped, and preserving its existing character was an important part of the brief. The homeowners wanted the swimming pool to feel like a natural addition to the property, without unnecessarily disturbing the surrounding garden.
A one-piece swimming pool finished in Silver Mist Pool Colour Guard was selected, complemented by Leckford Sandstone copings and paving. The lighter tones of the pool and natural stone worked well with the established landscaping, allowing the new installation to blend into its surroundings.
The pool was equipped with a solar polycarbonate slatted Aqua Top cover to help retain heat and reduce evaporation, together with a small air source heat pump for water heating. A chlorine feeder and UV disinfection system were installed for water treatment, while white LED underwater lighting allows the pool to be enjoyed during evening gatherings.
The main challenge was the timescale. With just 20 working days available, the excavation, pool installation, associated equipment and surrounding paving all needed to be carefully coordinated. Working within an established garden also required particular attention to protecting the areas that were to remain untouched.
Fortunately, the project progressed without any major complications, allowing our installation team to maintain the programme and complete the works ahead of the clients’ celebration.
In just 20 working days, an area of lawn had been transformed into a fully installed swimming pool with its surrounding sandstone paving.
The clients were able to enjoy their new pool at the planned celebration, without having to compromise on the existing garden they had worked so hard to establish.
