The homeowner wanted a private swimming pool that could be used for exercise throughout the year, without having to rely on the British weather. With limited space available, the challenge was to create a practical swimming facility within a purpose-built extension.
We installed a compact one-piece swimming pool, incorporating a swim jet that allows the client to swim continuously against a current. This provides the opportunity for regular swimming exercise without requiring the length of a conventional lap pool.
The pool was finished with contemporary wood-effect surrounds, giving the room a warmer, more residential feel rather than the appearance of a traditional leisure facility.
The client was also keen to keep maintenance straightforward and minimise the use of conventional pool chemicals. We therefore incorporated a Hydroxinator water treatment system alongside UV disinfection, supporting effective water sanitation while reducing reliance on manual chemical dosing. The smooth surface of the one-piece pool also makes routine cleaning easier.
An automatic PVC slatted Aqua Top cover was installed to help retain heat and reduce evaporation when the pool is not in use. White LED underwater lighting provides illumination, while a Heatstar environmental control system manages humidity and helps maintain suitable conditions within the indoor pool room.
The completed installation makes effective use of a relatively small space, giving the homeowner a dedicated place to swim and exercise throughout the year.
By incorporating a swim jet and the necessary environmental control equipment, the pool provides the functionality of a larger swimming facility without requiring an extensive building footprint.
