The client wanted a contemporary indoor swimming pool with clean architectural lines, carefully selected finishes and a relaxing atmosphere. Having considered the benefits of a one-piece pool, they chose an Aqua Technics model for its smooth interior, ease of maintenance and manufacturer warranties.
We installed an Aqua Technics Royale measuring 11.22m x 3.77m, finished in Grey Sky Silver Pool Colour Guard. The lighter pool colour was selected to complement the room’s lighting scheme, particularly the statement ceiling light, which creates striking reflections across the water when illuminated.
Keeping the pool’s appearance uncluttered was an important part of the brief. To achieve this, we incorporated a grey automatic slatted cover housed within a concealed pit. When not in use, the cover is hidden from view, allowing the pool’s clean lines to remain uninterrupted. When deployed, it helps retain heat and reduce evaporation.
The surrounding finishes were chosen to complement the contemporary interior, with granite providing a practical and understated poolside surface.
A Heatstar environmental control system was also incorporated to manage humidity and maintain suitable conditions within the indoor pool room.
The installation was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which temporarily brought construction to a halt. Once work could resume, we had to coordinate the remaining installation around an increasingly busy project schedule before bringing the pool through to completion.
The completed space is now somewhere the client can swim, relax and unwind at the end of the day. With the automatic cover concealed and the ceiling light reflecting across the water, the design achieves the simple, uninterrupted appearance they had originally envisioned.
