With a background in interior design, the client had a clear idea of how they wanted to transform an underused area of their garden. The plans included a swimming pool, summerhouse, outdoor kitchen and lounge area, creating a space dedicated to relaxing and entertaining.
During our initial consultation, the client spotted a swimming pool featured on the front cover of our brochure. It was exactly the style they had been looking for and became the inspiration for their own installation.
A one-piece swimming pool finished in Moonlight Pool Colour Guard was selected for its dark, contemporary appearance, complementing the wider garden design.
Although the pool itself was straightforward, the installation presented an unexpected challenge.
The excavation had been completed by the client’s appointed main contractor before our team arrived. However, we discovered that the excavation dimensions were incorrect due to faulty setting-out equipment.
Rather than allowing this to delay the project significantly, we adapted the installation and used additional backfill material to ensure the pool shell was correctly positioned and supported.
The swimming pool was fitted with a solar polycarbonate slatted Aqua Top cover to help retain heat and reduce evaporation. A chlorine feeder and UV disinfection system were also installed to manage water treatment.
The pool now forms part of a much larger outdoor living area, alongside the summerhouse, kitchen and seating spaces.
What had previously been an underused section of the garden has become somewhere the homeowners can swim, entertain guests and spend time outdoors, with the swimming pool providing the starting point for the entire transformation.
