Not every garden has room for a large swimming pool, but that doesn’t mean homeowners have to miss out on the benefits of having one.
Sanctuary was installed as both our own family swimming pool and a working show pool, giving prospective customers the opportunity to see how a compact one-piece pool can work in a smaller garden.
Completed in just two weeks, the pool was finished in Sandy Bay Pool Colour Guard, with granite copings and surrounds creating a practical poolside area.
Although compact, Sanctuary was designed to offer more than somewhere to cool off during summer. A built-in swim jet creates a continuous current, allowing users to swim against the flow without needing the length of a traditional lap pool. It’s a particularly useful feature for anyone who wants to combine family swimming with regular exercise.
White LED underwater lighting allows the pool to be enjoyed in the evenings, while a small air source heat pump provides water heating.
A solar polycarbonate slatted Aqua Top cover helps retain heat and reduce evaporation when the pool isn’t being used. Automatic chemical dosing and UV disinfection were also incorporated to make routine water treatment more straightforward.
As a family pool, Sanctuary provides somewhere for the children to play and everyone to enjoy time outdoors. As a show pool, it allows visitors to experience the finish, features and proportions of a compact swimming pool before making a decision about their own garden.
It’s a practical example of how much can be achieved with a smaller pool when the available space is used carefully.
