This project was one of our smoothest indoor pool projects to date, we believe this was because the impeccable timing and organisation from the office and our on-site team, however this didn’t come without its challenges. The biggest challenge was hitting deadlines and working with the main contractor. The building around the pool went up so quick that we had to hurry the Heatstar delivery otherwise this wouldn’t have been able to fit within the plant room. Luckily on the week the building was being topped out and enclosed the Heatstar was delivered.
We were on a very tight schedule with this project as the client needed it finished by Christmas, to coincide with the completion of the house build, and so they could achieve their goal of swimming on Christmas Day. Despite the many challenges, this deadline and goal were met! Another big challenge which threatened to derail the project was that the underwater strip lights which were specified were not available here in the UK and had to be sourced from a supplier overseas but, again, we managed to get them here in a timely fashion in order to stay on deadline. Our client is utterly overjoyed with the finished result, tells us that they are in it every day, and have already recommended us to other potential clients.
We believe this stunning project is one of our most prestige because of the beautiful design and finish. The client owns one of the UK’s highest profile developers of high end, luxury properties, so they were extremely discerning at the outset in selecting a contractor to realise their dream home leisure build. The client had already had an architect draw up the design, and the brief was that the finished pool had to be “glamorous, but classy”, and we feel unequivocally that we have delivered that for them, as does the client.
In doing our due diligence with the customer at the materials specification stage, we drove them to our mosaic supplier in London so they could hand pick the mosaics they wanted, and made sure they were completely happy with their decision. The pool is finished in Gin Fizz mosaics throughout, and the leisure suite is complemented by a Tylo Harmony luxury sauna and Tylo bucket shower. Strip LED lighting integrated in to the pool steps not only provides night time illumination for bather safety, but aesthetically mirrors lighting integrated into the pool hall’s walls and ceilings. Two A&T AquaTop solar polycarbonate automatic slatted covers complete this just stunning luxury build.
We had to carefully design the pool cover to work with the spa; having one cover from one end of the pool wasn’t going to work, and therefore we came up with the idea to have 2 cover systems, each appearing from each end of the pool which met in the middle while curving round the spa. This was something out client didn’t consider when initially designing the pool, however our technical expertise and experience allowed our clients to remain with the original design, with no amendments.
It was a real pleasure to be able to work for and with such a high end building development company (the directors house), this project is one we are so lucky and proud to have won. We had to ensure we were fulfilling our clients wishes and beating expectations.
