Tuesnoad Project

Our directors’ favourite pool project to date is the Tuesnoad Project. It perfectly blends contemporary and traditional elements.

The client initially contacted us in 2020, expressing interest in a one-piece pool. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to postpone the project. After the restrictions were lifted, the client reconnected with us and was eager to move forward. By this time, we had upgraded to a superior one-piece pool brand, with only a minimal price increase. The client was satisfied with the change, and proceeded with the project.

Being a Grade 2 listed property, the client required planning permission. We handled the application process on their behalf and were successful within 6 weeks, without any conditions. Fortunately, the previous pool specifications were similar enough that we did not need to resubmit the application.

We installed a Royale Aqua Technics Pool in Horizon, measuring 11.22m x 3.77m (internally) The client chose the Royale model with a sloping depth to accommodate the family’s needs, with the depth ranging from 1.1m to 1.8m and steps at the end for easy access. The landscaping was kept simple yet elegant, with our team preparing the site and a recommended landscaping team finishing the surroundings in beautiful Indian sandstone and complementary high brick walls for privacy. An additional handrail was installed by the steps for assisted entry.

To ensure energy efficiency and an eco-friendly design, we paired a standard season heat pump with solar polycarbonate. The plant room was discreetly placed in an old shed adjacent to the pool, providing the perfect size and location to hide the equipment.

The pool installation was completed within one month, and the family now enjoys using it almost daily. They even had the opportunity to use the pool during the Christmas and New Year holidays, although a bit chilly. The pool installation was finished before the rest of the garden renovation, minimizing disruption for the client.

In August 2020, I initially inquired with XL Pools and was offered a One-Piece pool brand that I was very satisfied with, so I decided to proceed with the construction. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a nearly 2-year delay in the project. We waited until March 2022 for the pool installation, and by that time, XL Pools had started working with a better brand of One-Piece pools called Aqua Technics from Australia. We reviewed the available pool options and determined that the Royale model was the best fit for our family, as it was the perfect size for our needs. When selecting the pool color, the vibrant and bright blue Horizon stood out to us as the clear best choice in our opinion. Now, two years later, we are absolutely delighted with our pool and feel that we made the right decision. XL Pools provides us with regular maintenance, and their service has been excellent.
