Wall Structure

Pools are built with a full-size structural ribbing system along the walls. This reinforces the pool and makes it independently structural when installed into a sandy hole, eliminating the need for sand and cement backfill.

Edge Beam Detail

A 200mm wide edge beam is standard with every Aqua Technics pool. The design means the pool is structurally sound without secondary engineering works such as a concrete ring beam. Most paving headers are designed to fit perfectly.

Step Reinforcement

Support structures in the step area ensure backfill can be effectively placed around the pool to sustain the entire structure, guaranteeing the step area is fully consolidated.

Take your time to read and absorb everything you can. To help with your research, here are a few key things to consider before buying your new pool.

Pool Quality

Does your pool builder operate under a Quality Management System and have product conformance to recognised standards? Every Aqua Technics pool is made using certified swimming-pool-grade fibreglass with daily on-site batching of raw materials by a qualified Industrial Chemist, guaranteeing a better product.

Pool Structure

Does the pool have a full-size ribbing system making it independently structural? Long benches, seats and swim-outs should be structurally supported and part of the pool shell. Steps should have lateral reinforcing baffles. Edge beams should remove the need for secondary engineering works. All fittings should be fibreglassed onto the shell, not screwed on and sealed with silicone.

Pool Finish

When choosing a finish and colour, consider factors that affect the pool surface such as UV rays and chemicals. The Aqua Technics range uses Crystalite® ColourGuard, a dual-coat process that acts like sunscreen for your pool, protecting the colour layer and providing superior fade resistance.

Warranties

Always ensure comprehensive warranties come with your pool. XL Pools offers a 20-year structural warranty and a 10-year surface warranty, a true commitment to long-term peace of mind, well above the industry standard.

Filter, Pumps & Other Equipment

Consider the pump size and brand. Is it large enough for the volume of your pool? Where will equipment live, and is it visible from the pool? Choose a filter type and automatic cleaner that best suits your environment, maintenance preferences and the pool itself.

Electrical Requirements

How many power points will you need? Most pool installations include two weatherproof power points and allow up to 40m of electrical run. Anything beyond will be at an additional cost.

The Installation Journey

Eight stages, one team, from set-out to swim.

Every Aqua Technics installation follows a carefully managed sequence, from precise excavation to commissioning, handled entirely by the XL Pools team.

1. Site Layout

Once the ideal location is confirmed, we carefully set out the pool using detailed excavation drawings to ensure precise positioning.

2. Excavation

We excavate the pool area, dig service trenches, and prepare the base for the plant room.

3. Pool Base

A concrete screed base is installed to create a perfectly level and stable foundation.

4. Delivery

Your pool is delivered to your property on a large articulated lorry, ready for installation.

5. Installation & Plumbing

The pool is positioned, and all plumbing and electrical connections are completed between the pool and the plant room.

6. Backfilling & Filling

We begin backfilling around the pool while simultaneously filling it with water to ensure structural stability.

7. Finishing Touches

Pool copings and surrounding finishes are completed to your chosen design.

8. Enjoy Your Pool

Your pool is commissioned and it's time to dive in and enjoy.
